Welcome to FlashFlood an international flash-fiction journal created by you and edited by a team of volunteer editors on behalf of National Flash-Fiction Day.
The aim is simple, wherever you are in the world, we want your best flash-fictions. The word limit is 500 words, but that's the only rule. Any subject, any genre, any style, any perspective, anything as long as it's flash.
Submissions are NOW CLOSED.
When we re-open, we will announce it through the NFFD social media channels, and on here.
The stories will be posted regularly throughout the day on National Flash-Fiction Day, Saturday 25th June 2016, providing you with a constant diet of brand new flash-fictions to fill your day.
Please paste your story into the body of your email (no attachments, please) and send it to firstname.lastname@example.org. (A maximum of 3 pieces per author, please. Previously published stories are okay, but please include a citation to the original version.)
We can't wait to read your work!
Please note: Because of the flood of entries we receive, the editors will be unable to provide feedback on stories or give reasons for rejections. There are many reasons other than the quality of your story (a topic which has already been accepted, a topic which is over-used, veering more towards poetry than the editor likes, veering less towards poetry than the editor likes, personal taste) so please don't be disheartened or offended if your piece doesn't make it in.
All copyright in the stories remains with you. You are free to republish any story anywhere else in any form. All we would ask is for a 'first published in' credit if you do republish.
The blog remains live, with your story accessible, but should you wish us to remove it, or wish anything to be changed after the day of publication, please email email@example.com with your request and we will be happy to comply.
We do not pay for stories. We make no money from this journal, but see it as a celebration of flash-fiction. If you do not wish to join in on that basis, and require payment, then we respectfully suggest you do not submit.
